Job Description
For one of our clients in the Dutch energy sector, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data solutions supporting data-driven decision-making and the energy transition.
You will work with modern cloud and data technologies and collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integrations.
- Transform complex datasets into reliable and reusable data products.
- Build and maintain cloud-based data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, security and performance.
- Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects and other engineering teams.
- Contribute to data-platform modernisation and cloud migration projects.
- Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Help establish and improve data-engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Experience within the Dutch energy, utilities, renewable-energy or infrastructure sector.
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform.
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Snowflake.
- Understanding of data modelling, data quality and data governance.
- Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent Dutch and English communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Relevant cloud or data-engineering certifications are a plus, particularly Azure, Databricks or cloud-data-platform certifications.
