Nice to know (you) Royal Schiphol Group is seeking an experienced aviation strategy and transformation professional to undertake a fixed-term international assignment in Brisbane. The successful candidate will remain employed by Schiphol Nederland B.V. and will provide specialist strategy and transformation services to Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Ltd on behalf of Schiphol. Employed by Schiphol Nederland B.V. and based in Brisbane, the Strategy & Transformation Manager – Aviation Portfolio will provide specialist strategy and transformation services to Brisbane Airport Corporation on behalf of Royal Schiphol Group. The assignment will support the translation of BAC’s corporate strategic direction into actionable aviation business and operational strategies, roadmaps and recommendations. Through proactive business partnering, the role aims to convert strategic intent into clear priorities, choices and roadmaps, embedding strategy into day to day planning, investment decisions and execution across the Aviation business. The position will contribute Schiphol’s international airport expertise, strategic analysis and transformation experience to support BAC in: translating BAC’s corporate strategic vision into Aviation-specific business and operational strategies. establishing clear strategic roadmaps that define what will and will not be done to achieve the Aviation strategy. strengthening strategic alignment and execution capability across Aviation, particularly within Terminal Operations. identifying, assess and support implementation of transformational initiatives that enhance operational performance, customer experience and long-term value creation. You put your talents to work at: Aviation Strategy & Transformation Leadership Translate strategic intent into clear, sequenced roadmaps that define priorities, initiatives, dependencies and delivery horizons. Ensure Aviation strategies clearly articulate boundaries, trade-offs and investment choices, supporting effective decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor to Brisbane Airport leadership team advising on matters of strategic direction, priorities and transformation initiatives. Provide independent strategic advice and evidence-based recommendations to relevant BAC executives and senior stakeholders, on behalf of Schiphol, regarding aviation strategy, transformation priorities and the sequencing of project and program delivery. Employ data and analytical approaches in decision-making processes and strategies. Collaborate with BAC’s Innovation Manager to analyse business challenges and develop recommendations. Collaborate with BAC’s Business Resilience Manager, to ensure the Aviation business, strategy and roadmaps are suitably resilient. Collaborate with BAC’s Head of Sustainability to ensure alignment between the organisation’s Sustainability commitment and roadmaps are incorporated into aviation business & operational roadmaps. Actively identify strategic risks, dependencies and interplays across Aviation initiatives and support mitigation planning. Identify roadblocks and dependencies that may affect relevant workstreams or projects and provide recommendations to the appropriate BAC stakeholders regarding mitigation or escalation. Strategic Business Partnering and Delivery - Aviation Work with relevant BAC aviation leaders and subject-matter experts to analyse complex strategic and operational challenges using structured problem-solving and strategic analysis. Lead the delivery of agreed strategy and transformation work packages and specialist advisory services within the scope of the Schiphol-BAC services arrangement, with a particular focus on terminal operations. Support prioritisation of Aviation initiatives in the context of corporate and portfolio-wide delivery commitments. Provide strategic advice and quality assurance to support alignment of relevant aviation projects and programs with agreed strategic roadmaps. Lead the development of high-quality strategy documentation, recommendations and briefing materials for consideration by BAC executive and Board audiences, within the scope of the agreed services. Facilitate collaboration between relevant BAC stakeholders and, where appropriate, Schiphol and external subject-matter experts to support the delivery of agreed outcomes. With the best people, we make travel safe and responsible addition, for this position you have: minimum of 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in strategy development, complex problem-solving, transformation and the management of significant workstreams, preferably within the Royal Schiphol Group. a relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance, economics, strategy, project management, engineering, aviation management or a related discipline. proven experience within aviation and airport operations. proven knowledge in dealing with IATA and ICAO airport regulations. experience developing or supporting operational strategies, particularly within Aviation terminal, customer or asset operations. experience in development of corporate strategy within large, complex organisations and translating into company-wide transformation. demonstrated strength leading challenging, interdependent programs and initiatives with multiple, invested stakeholders. strong commercial and financial acumen including qualitative and quantitative analysis (financial modelling, business case analysis, market sizing etc.). strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess the impact of change, identify risks and barriers, and develop strategies to mitigate them. The ability to overlay with strong commercial acumen. exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence key internal and external relationships. excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal; ability to distil complex ideas into simple, visual communication tools. demonstrated experience with leading business processes, leadership, risk management and implementation of change. team leadership, mentoring and proven capabilities in people management.
