WE ARE HIRING — LABORATORY SPECIALIST Lubricants & Additives PXL Chemicals B.V. is growing, and we are looking for a Laboratory Specialist to strengthen our technical team in Barendrecht, the Netherlands. PXL Chemicals is an international company specializing in lubricant additive packages and performance solutions for the automotive and industrial lubricant markets. We develop solutions together with customers, suppliers and manufacturing partners around the world, combining formulation expertise, laboratory testing and practical technical support. Your role As a Laboratory Specialist, you will play an important role in our technical and product development activities. You will perform laboratory testing on lubricant formulations, additive packages and raw materials and help translate test results into practical conclusions. You will report directly to our Technical Responsible and work closely with colleagues across Technical, R&D, Production and Sales. Your responsibilities will include: Performing physical and chemical analyses of lubricants, additive packages and raw materials Preparing samples, formulations and test blends according to established procedures Conducting and evaluating laboratory tests for engine oils and other lubricant applications Operating, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment Recording, analysing and reporting laboratory results Supporting formulation development and product optimisation Investigating deviations in product quality or laboratory results Supporting troubleshooting for technical and customer-related questions Maintaining accurate laboratory documentation, procedures and test records Contributing to the development and validation of new products and formulations Working closely with our Technical, R&D, Production and Sales teams What we are looking for We are looking for someone with: A minimum HBO/Bachelor-level degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Technology or a related field Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably within lubricants, chemicals, additives or a related industry A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail The ability to interpret laboratory data and identify deviations or potential problems A structured, accurate and quality-focused way of working The ability to work independently while also being comfortable working within an international team Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities Experience with Excel and laboratory documentation Good written and spoken English Dutch language skills are considered a plus Experience with lubricant formulation, lubricant testing or additive chemistry is a strong advantage. The Laboratory Specialist performs physical and chemical analyses on lubricant formulations, additive packages, and raw materials. They are responsible for operating lab equipment, documenting results, and supporting product optimization and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Laboratory Technology with experience in a laboratory environment. Proficiency in English and a strong analytical mindset are required, while experience in lubricant additive chemistry is a strong advantage.
