Company Description CatSwoppr is a global, community-driven platform dedicated to celebrating the bond between cats and cat companions. Through its free Global Cat PR Agency, CatSwoppr helps individuals share unique cat stories and inspire fellow feline enthusiasts worldwide. The team is currently developing the CatScanR app, designed to connect cat lovers online and offline for meetups, tips, and shared experiences. Guided by a vision of giving back to cats, a portion of future profits from the CatScanR app will support cats in need through the CatSwoppr Charity Fund. Applicants will join a mission-focused organization that values creativity, generosity, and the power of storytelling in a vibrant cat-loving community. Role Description This is a part-time (3 to 6 hours a week), unpaid, remote student intern role for a Blog Writer + Video Maker at CatSwoppr. The intern will research and develop engaging blog topics based on cat stories harvested from and also submitted by followers in our cat community members. Daily tasks include writing and editing blog posts, optimizing them for web publishing, and collaborating on content ideas that align with CatSwoppr’s mission and tone of voice. The intern will also plan, script, record, and edit short-form video content (e.g., videorecaps of the blogposts, social clips, story highlights et cetera) suitable for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, and ideally also other social channels. Additional responsibilities may include supporting basic content promotion, assisting with community engagement, and coordinating with the team to meet content deadlines. Qualifications Strong Writing and Web Content Writing skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate blog posts. Experience or interest in Blogging and digital storytelling, including structuring posts, using headlines, and adapting tone for different platforms. Research skills to gather accurate information, understand cat-related topics, and transform inputs from the community into compelling stories. Basic Marketing awareness to help promote content, increase reach, and support CatSwoppr’s brand presence across digital channels. Ability to plan, script, shoot, and edit simple video content using common tools (e.g., smartphone, basic editing software, and also our Figma templates). Currently enrolled as a student or recent graduate in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, or similar) is preferred. Comfort working independently in a remote environment, managing time effectively, and meeting deadlines. Genuine interest in cats, animal welfare, and community-focused initiatives; prior experience in online communities or social media management is a plus. Good written and spoken English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage. The main reason to join us, is your love for cats. Of course, if you as student want the internship to be part of your (applied) university curriculum, and if your professor agrees, we would be very happy to fill out intern papers for you, and all other necessary documents. We have done such in the past for students enrolled at e.g. University of Padova, Erasmus University, Leiden University, Avans Hogeschool Breda, Saxion Hogeschool, University College Dublin, et cetera. You may also find room to experiment with social media formats, Insta and/or TikTok strategies, data analytics, visual design, business development, webdesign even.
