About the Team The Corporate Security Team is ORTEC's central cybersecurity function. We protect ORTEC's people, systems, data, and services against cyber threats and work closely with IT, Cloud Operations, Development, and business stakeholders to continuously strengthen our security posture. Our team is responsible for a broad range of security domains, including: Security Monitoring & Incident Response Vulnerability Management Cloud Security (Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365) Identity & Privileged Access Management Endpoint Security Dark Web & Brand Monitoring Certificate & PKI Management Security Awareness As a Security Engineer, you will design, implement, manage, and continuously improve security controls and tooling across ORTEC's global environment. You will work closely with internal teams to detect threats, manage vulnerabilities, respond to incidents, and drive security improvements throughout the organization. This role is part of ORTEC's Corporate Security Team, where you will contribute to building a secure, resilient, and modern security capability. You will have the opportunity to influence security strategy, drive technical improvements, and help shape the future of security at ORTEC. This role is well suited for both security professionals and experienced infrastructure, cloud, network, platform, or Microsoft 365 engineers who want to specialize further in cybersecurity. What You'll Do As a Security Engineer, you will: Protect ORTEC's networks, endpoints, cloud platforms, systems, and applications against cybersecurity threats. Safeguard ORTEC and customer data by implementing and maintaining effective security controls. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information. Manage, optimize, and continuously improve ORTEC's security tooling and technical security controls. Implement and maintain security controls within Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Conditional Access, endpoint management, and data protection environments. Monitor security events and investigate threats using XDR, cloud security, and monitoring platforms. Support incident response activities and work closely with Incident Coordinators during security incidents. Drive the vulnerability management process by identifying, prioritizing, coordinating, and tracking remediation of vulnerabilities through vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, threat intelligence, and security advisories. Perform proactive threat and vulnerability analysis based on emerging risks and industry developments. Conduct technical security assessments and compliance checks in collaboration with system and application owners. Collaborate with IT, Cloud Operations, Development, and business stakeholders to implement security improvements and reduce risk. Identify opportunities to automate security operations, monitoring, reporting, and remediation activities. Help define and improve technical security standards, policies, and procedures. Proactively identify recurring issues, security risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives that strengthen ORTEC's security posture. Drive security automation and continuous improvement initiatives across ORTEC. Collaborate with IT teams on networking, firewall, cloud, and platform security improvements. What We're Looking For We especially welcome candidates with a background in System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Network Engineering, or Microsoft 365 Engineering who are looking to transition into or further develop their career in cybersecurity. Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Conditional Access, endpoint management, networking, firewalls, DLP, system architecture, vulnerability management, incident response, or security monitoring is highly valued. Security experience is a plus, but we are equally interested in engineers with a strong infrastructure, cloud, networking, or Microsoft platform background who want to grow into a cybersecurity role. You are: Technically strong, curious, and continuously developing your security expertise. Proactive and pragmatic in your approach. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple teams. Able to balance security requirements with business needs. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can change based on emerging threats and business needs. What we offer: A permanent position with a competitive salary and performance-based incentives. Salary range: € 4,100–€4,700 gross per month (depending on experience and interview evaluations). Holiday remuneration of 8%. Additional month salary (13th month). 25 annual leave days, with additional days from the age of 35. NS Business Card, lease opportunity, or commuting allowance. About Corporate Security Corporate Security is part of ORTEC's broader IT & Security organization. The team works closely with IT, Cloud Operations, Development, business stakeholders, and Legal & Compliance to improve ORTEC's security posture and ensure security is embedded across the organization. Corporate Security focuses on technical and operational security capabilities, including security tooling, monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, security awareness, and technical security controls. Legal & Compliance oversees compliance frameworks, certifications, and formal assurance activities. Together, these teams help ensure that ORTEC remains secure, resilient, and compliant. Interested? Requirements
