Job Description

Wren Aerospace is looking for an aerospace engineering student to support the aerodynamic development of Griffin, our approximately 60 kg long-endurance unmanned aircraft. The project will involve: • Full-aircraft aerodynamic analysis and configuration refinement • CFD and lower-order aerodynamic modelling • Drag, stability and control assessments • Propeller–airframe interaction and propulsion integration • Developing an aerodynamic database for performance and flight-dynamics work • Supporting wind-tunnel and flight-test planning and correlation We are looking for someone with a background in aerospace engineering and experience in aerodynamics, CFD, MATLAB or Python. Experience with ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, XFLR5 or similar tools would be advantageous. The internship is based in the Netherlands, with two days per week working from home as standard. A duration of four to six months is preferred, and the project may be suitable as a university thesis. Interested? Core Responsibilities

The intern will support the aerodynamic development of the Griffin unmanned aircraft through CFD modeling, configuration refinement, and performance analysis. They will also assist in the creation of aerodynamic databases and the planning of wind-tunnel and flight-test activities.

Requirements

Candidates must be aerospace engineering students with experience in aerodynamics, CFD, and programming in MATLAB or Python. Familiarity with industry-standard simulation tools like ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or XFLR5 is considered highly advantageous.
