At Vanderlande Industries, Project Managers use a wide range of processes, templates, reports, SharePoint locations, Excel files and project tools. While these tools support project execution, the current landscape is fragmented. Information is often entered multiple times, transferred manually or adapted for different stakeholders. This creates unnecessary workload and increases the risk of errors. During this internship, you will investigate how the current way of working can be made simpler and smarter. You will map the processes and tools used by Project Managers, identify duplication and manual work, and explore opportunities for standardization, automation and AI. Your research will result in practical improvement ideas for the short term and recommendations for the future ERP delivery system towards 2030. The key research question is ‘How can Vanderlande reduce the administrative workload of Project Managers by simplifying processes, integrating tools and applying smart automation or AI?’ Department description You will join Distribution Execution, a global and project-driven environment within Vanderlande Industries. The department delivers complex material handling and logistics automation projects for customers in the Distribution domain, with a strong focus on major Amazon projects in North America. You will work closely with Project Managers and colleagues from Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Installation, Integration and Finance. The environment is international, hands-on and dynamic, giving you the opportunity to learn how projects are managed in practice and turn your findings into real improvements. Tasks/responsibilities Map current processes, tools, templates and reports used by Project Managers Identify duplicate, manual and low-value activities Interview Project Managers and key stakeholders across departments Create a clear overview of the current tool and process landscape Identify opportunities for automation, AI and process simplification Develop practical recommendations, quick wins and input for the ERP roadmap towards 2030 Your profile You have a strong analytical and structured mindset You are interested in process improvement, AI and digital transformation You are comfortable working with Microsoft 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint Experience with SharePoint, Power Automate, Copilot or Power Apps is a plus You communicate easily with different stakeholders and enjoy conducting interviews You are curious, proactive and able to work independently *Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands What we offer A monthly internship allowance (based on a 40-hour work week) Bachelor €500 per month Master €550 per month Full commuting allowance, including public transport, depending on whether you have access to free public transport or not On-site health center with gym Active employee communities and initiatives Excellent company restaurant and barista coffee bar Contact Do you recognize yourself in this challenging profile? Requirements
Candidates should be Bachelor or Master students in Business IT, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration with a strong analytical mindset. Mandatory enrollment in a Dutch education system and residency in the Netherlands are required.
