As a Software Engineer at Flow Traders, you will build the systems that power our global trading business and help us compete on exchanges around the world. The work is varied and challenging, ranging from systems operating on or near the critical path, such as receiving market data and placing orders, to platforms that process vast amounts of data with exceptional reliability, performance, and traceability. You will play a key role in advancing our proprietary trading platform by developing efficient, high-performance software, designing innovative solutions, and strengthening existing systems with a focus on low latency and stability. Since markets never stand still, we work in small, business-aligned teams and use agile practices to respond quickly to change. You will work closely with Trading every day, creating fast feedback loops and a clear view of the value your work delivers. To support collaboration and encourage autonomy, we build and maintain shared libraries, promote code reuse, and continuously refine our approach to application architecture. What you will do Engineer and evolve a high-performance, distributed trading platform leveraging modern technologies. Partner with quants, traders, and business stakeholders to transform complex requirements into innovative, scalable technical solutions. Mentor and inspire junior engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and engineering excellence. Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends, driving impactful improvements across the technology stack, and integrating third-party tools and platforms into our systems where they add value. Own software quality from end to end by contributing to code reviews, testing, deployment, and adoption, delivering robust, reliable solutions to production. What you need to succeed Previous working experience in professional software development working with a strongly typed language like C++, Java, Rust and ability to be productive in any language leveraging AI In-depth understanding of algorithms and data structures Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Strong sense of teamwork and ownership and willingness to learn new skills Experienced in using LLM augmented development and rapid prototyping Comfortable participating in on-call operations rotation BSc or MSc in Computing Science, Mathematics or other quantitative fields Nice to have Kafka, Chronicle Queue, gRPC, Google Cloud Platform Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Previous experience in the Trading industry Proficiency in Python What we offer Benefits At Flow Traders, we create the conditions for hard‑working, high‑performing people to do their best work.
