Tactical Planner Full time, 38 hours per week Action continues to grow rapidly across Europe. With more than 3,000 stores in 15 countries and ambitious expansion plans, our supply chain network is becoming increasingly complex. To support this growth, we are looking for an experienced Tactical Planner who can optimize inventory, planning parameters, and network performance across our international supply chain. In this role, you will act as the connecting link between Supply Planning, Commercial Planning, Buying, Logistics, and external suppliers, helping Action continuously improve the flow of goods throughout the network. This is your daily action As a Tactical Planner, you are responsible for safeguarding and optimizing key planning parameters, inventory strategies, and supply chain performance across the Action network. You provide a medium to long-term perspective on inventory, availability, capacity utilization, and network constraints, enabling the business to make informed decisions and scale effectively. You work closely with Supply Planning, Commercial Planning, Buying, Logistics, Controlling, Strategy & Innovation teams, and external suppliers to improve supply chain performance and support Action's continued growth. You act as a subject matter expert for planning parameters, inventory management, and network optimization, helping drive improvements that increase product availability, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Your key responsibilities Manage and optimize planning system parameters and settings within systems such as SAP, Symphony, and Anaplan. Safeguard inventory strategies, replenishment settings, and safety stock parameters across the network. Monitor and improve key performance indicators including availability, service levels, inventory, forecasting accuracy, network utilization, cost, and risk. Identify trends, provide insights, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Planning function. Support seasonal planning activities and participate in cross-functional governance processes for major commercial events. Contribute to the implementation and further development of integrated end-to-end planning solutions. Drive projects related to inventory optimization, stock strategies, and supply chain scalability. Develop and maintain governance over delivery schedules and network capacity utilization. Analyse risks, constraints, and opportunities within the supply chain and propose effective solutions. Support the onboarding of suppliers by ensuring optimal planning parameter setups. Contribute to distribution centre, hub, and cross-dock expansion projects. Work cross-functionally to improve collaboration, processes, systems, and ways of working across Supply Chain, Logistics, and Commerce. Help develop future planning capabilities and ensure the scalability of Action's growing supply chain network. Meet your team You will be part of the Planning department at our international headquarters in Zwaagdijk-Oost and report directly to the Manager Tactical Planning. Together with your colleagues, you play a critical role in ensuring that Action's supply chain network remains efficient, scalable, and ready to support continued growth across Europe. The team focuses on optimizing inventory, network performance, planning parameters, and supply chain capabilities while working closely with stakeholders across Commerce, Logistics, Buying, and Operations. This is you You are an experienced planning professional who understands how to balance product availability, inventory, and operational efficiency. You are passionate about data, analytics, and continuous improvement. You are comfortable working with large datasets and translating complex information into actionable insights. You have strong stakeholder management skills and can influence decision-making across multiple business functions. You enjoy solving complex supply chain challenges and driving sustainable improvements. You are proactive, organized, and able to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. You combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic and results-oriented approach. You communicate effectively with stakeholders at both operational and strategic levels. Your Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Planning, Supply Chain Analytics, or a related discipline, preferably within an international retail, wholesale, or trading environment. Strong analytical capabilities and advanced data interpretation skills. Advanced knowledge of Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, or similar platforms. Experience working with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Symphony, Anaplan, or comparable solutions. Proven experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving improvements across complex supply chain environments. Experience leading projects and implementing process improvements. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent communication skills and strong command of the English language, Dutch is a plus. Ability to commute to our headquarters in Zwaagdijk-Oost at least three days per week. What we offer Surprisingly much!
