At Charles River Laboratories Den Bosch we are currently hiring a: Experienced Analytical Chemistry Technician - in vitro Metabolism About Us At Charles River Laboratories, we help make the world a safer place by studying the behavior of substances before they reach the market. These substances include medicines, (agro)chemicals, and food ingredients, Our Discovery & Environmental Sciences department consists of about 90 talented professionals working on diverse projects for clients worldwide. Characteristic of the work is the great diversity of tests, test substances, customers and collaborations. About The Team Within the Discovery & Environmental Sciences department, you’ll join our in vitro metabolism section, a dynamic group that investigates how compounds are processed in the body and interact with biological processes. We test these compounds in various studies using in vitro models including hepatocytes, blood and plasma. The chemical analysis of these compounds is performed using mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to quantify them in biological materials. For some studies, we identify unknown metabolites using high-resolution LC-MS instruments, requiring complex scientific problem-solving. Our team consists of 9 study directors (scientific project managers) and 13 technicians. About Your Role As an experienced technician, you’ll play a key role in performing a wide range of in vitro metabolism studies. You will perform various in vitro metabolism studies from sample pre-treatment, method development, implementation and sample analysis with LC-MS/MS. Next to the study work, you are involved in researching, developing and validating of new study setups. You will be working in a recently renovated laboratory (2021) equipped with new state-of-the-art analytical equipment. Your Profile A relevant applied science degree (HBO/HLO) in analytical chemistry or biochemistry Minimal 2 years’ experience with LC-MS/MS, including method development and validation Interest in identifying unknown compounds and using data analysis software (e.g., Xcalibur, Compound Discoverer, Empower and Masslynx) Strong communication skills in Dutch and English. A hands-on, creative problem-solving attitude. Proactive, results-driven, and flexible personality. Core Responsibilities
Perform in vitro metabolism studies including sample pre-treatment, method development, and analysis using LC-MS/MS. Research, develop, and validate new study setups within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.
Requirements
Requires an applied science degree in analytical chemistry or biochemistry and at least 2 years of experience with LC-MS/MS. Candidates should be proficient in Dutch and English and possess a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
