# Senior Backend Engineer (AWS) ## About the Company Lumenalta is focused on building secure, scalable, and efficient software solutions using modern backend development, cloud infrastructure, and automation technologies. ## About the Role Lumenalta is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, implement, and optimize robust backend systems and cloud-native applications. You will work with Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and automation while collaborating closely with DevOps, frontend, and product teams. This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and building high-performance, secure, scalable, and highly available systems. ## Key Responsibilities ### Backend Development * Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python. * Develop backend services that integrate with AWS cloud services. * Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability. ### AWS Cloud Infrastructure * Design and deploy scalable and secure AWS infrastructure. * Work with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3. * Support cloud-native applications with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. ### Kubernetes & Microservices * Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes. * Support scaling, load balancing, orchestration, and microservices management. * Maintain reliable and efficient containerized environments. ### Infrastructure as Code * Automate infrastructure management using Terraform or AWS CDK. * Build repeatable and efficient processes for cloud resource provisioning. * Improve infrastructure automation and operational efficiency. ### Monitoring & Logging * Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions using Grafana and Loki. * Monitor system reliability, performance, and availability. * Identify and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues. ### Collaboration & Optimization * Work closely with DevOps, frontend, and product teams. * Contribute to secure and scalable application delivery. * Automate workflows and optimize infrastructure and application performance. * Support low-latency and high-availability systems. ## Required Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on cloud-native applications. * Strong proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting. * Extensive experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS. * Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and microservices management. * Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana and Loki. * Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams. ## Preferred Qualifications * AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing. * Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications. * Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP. ## Core Skills Python, Backend Development, Backend Engineering, Cloud-Native Applications, AWS, Amazon Web Services, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, Kubernetes, Container Orchestration, Microservices, Terraform, AWS CDK, Infrastructure as Code, IaC, Grafana, Loki, Monitoring, Logging, CI/CD, Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Automation, Performance Optimization, High Availability, Low Latency, Troubleshooting, DevOps Collaboration. ## Remote Eligibility This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in Europe or regions with compatible time zones. Requirements
