Course Number-Section and Title: EDPI 441 731/741 Students with Behaviour Difficulties
Course Description Theoretical approaches and specific teaching methods appropriate to the needs of students with emotional or behaviour problems, including students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Multimodal team intervention approaches are emphasized. Application component: application of teaching methods with students experiencing behaviour difficulties.

Travel, taxi/mileage, accommodation and per diems are covered by the Office for instructors who require it.
Teaching Qualification Requirements
Education
Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Learning Sciences, Human Development, or equivalent.
In exceptional circumstances, applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered.
Experience
Knowledge of educational and psychological theories.
Knowledge of the application of educational and psychological theories to authentic settings.
Experience in college/university teaching in this subject or professional experience in teaching K-12.
Knowledge of Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MELS) requirements.
Other
Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field.
OFNIE Additional Requirements
Knowledge of the concepts of Inclusive Education.
Training and experience working in schools with students with diverse needs.
Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description.
Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP) and the curriculum of the partnering school board with whom this course is being delivered.
Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
Knowledge of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and a demonstrated ability to integrate pedagogical approaches grounded in equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous perspectives.
Experience as a teacher, administrator, or consultant in the partnering school system for which the course is being delivered.
Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system.
Previous successful experience teaching similar courses to pre-service teachers.
Previous successful experience teaching similar courses in Indigenous communities.
Experience developing curriculum, instructional approaches, and/or policy grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies.
Demonstrated capacity and willingness to adapt course content to the educational, social, cultural, and linguistic context of the community in which the course is being delivered.
Availability to participate in course coordination and planning activities prior to the course start date (approximately two weeks in advance, online).

Core Responsibilities
The lecturer will teach EDPI 441, focusing on theoretical approaches and teaching methods for students with behavioral difficulties. Responsibilities include coordinating course planning, adapting content to the local community context, and integrating Indigenous perspectives.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master’s or PhD in Educational Psychology or a related field and possess significant teaching experience. A deep understanding of inclusive education, the Quebec Education Program, and the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities is required.
