Founded in 2013 in Denmark, NORMAL is an unconventional and fast-growing retail brand with more than 1,000 stores across 12 countries in Europe. Our unique concept combines well-known everyday products at low prices with a fun and surprising shopping experience.
Today, we have 50 stores in the Netherlands, and as we continue to expand, we are looking for our first local Facility Coordinator to support our growing store network.
This is a unique opportunity to join us at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in building and developing our facility operations in the Netherlands.
Your responsibilities
You will report to our Facility Manager at the Danish HQ, while having a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Dutch Country Manager. You will also be part of the local HQ team of 13 people in the Netherlands.
Your working week will be a mix of administrative tasks – such as answering emails, coordinating repairs and following up with suppliers – and visiting stores to support the Store Managers and build strong relationships with them.
You will have a hands-on approach and help Store Managers understand how to maintain and take good care of their stores and facilities, while also helping to prevent unnecessary maintenance costs and repairs.
Your tasks will include:
Plan, coordinate and monitor maintenance activities and technical interventions, ensuring issues reported by Store Managers are resolved in a timely manner
Build strong and trusting relationships with all Store Managers
Build and manage a strong local network of facility suppliers, including vendor selection, contract negotiation and follow-up, ensuring high service quality and cost efficiency
Oversee facility operations across our stores, including maintenance, health & safety, cleaning and other facility-related areas, ensuring compliance with local regulations and documentation requirements
Collaborate closely with the Establishment and Maintenance teams at our Danish HQ

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of retail and the importance of efficient facility operations. You understand how to take care of a store and its inventory and how to make sensible decisions that help avoid unnecessary maintenance and repair costs.

Have experience negotiating and managing contracts with external suppliers – this would be an advantage, but is not a requirement

Core Responsibilities

Requirements
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of retail facility operations and experience in managing external supplier contracts. Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English are required, along with a proactive and independent approach to problem-solving.
