About the Role

AMECO is seeking a Service Writer to support our Terrace, BC Operations Centre. This role is responsible for coordinating work orders, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting day to day maintenance planning and scheduling activities.

Your Role at AMECO

This position is responsible for all work orders, including issuing work orders, receiving completed work orders, entering information into the Vantage system and maintaining accurate files. The role also supports maintenance planning, scheduling and day to day equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Adhere to and support AMECO's Health, Safety & Environmental and sustainability Policies
  • Issue work orders for planned maintenance  and provide the Parts Department with information required to prepare filter packages in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Issue work orders for unplanned field level maintenance, as directed , including light towers, generators and water pumps.
  • Track work orders in specified log for management
  • Track and advise on “open work order” report
  • Maintain “shop lost time” work order
  • Enter repairs completed from mechanic timecards on to work orders
  • Close work orders that are complete
  • Update Planned Maintenance and Unplanned Maintenance spreadsheets as required
  • Review for parts used to perform repairs – verify status of open PO numbers
  • Complete third-party work orders and billable repair work orders.
  • Participate in work planning meeting to follow-up on scheduling with maintenance coordinator and JVDII supervision
  • Identify warranty repairs and facilitate warranty process through the warranty log.
  • Coordinate call-backs with maintenance coordinator to facilitate training/development/corrective actions through JVDII Supervision

Certifications & Skill Requirements

  • Experience in service writing, maintenance administration, operations support or a similar role.
  • Experience with work orders, maintenance records and scheduling.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel; Vantage experience is an asset.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work with maintenance, parts and operations teams.

Core Responsibilities

The Service Writer is responsible for coordinating work orders, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and supporting day-to-day maintenance planning and scheduling. They also facilitate warranty repairs and ensure parts information is provided to the Parts Department for scheduled maintenance.

Requirements

Candidates should have experience in service writing, maintenance administration, or operations support, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with maintenance and operations teams are required.
