Job Description

We offer you an Ocean of Possibilities. Join our family. Technical Project Manager Remote Monitoring About The Role Do you want to lead technical projects that bring smart remote monitoring technology on board vessels? As Technical Project Manager Remote Monitoring, you make sure our Triton system is installed, connected and delivered successfully. You coordinate the full process from project kick-off to handover, working closely with customers, engineers, suppliers, sales colleagues and project teams. In this role, you combine technical understanding with project management. You translate customer needs and vessel requirements into a clear plan, arrange the right information, align stakeholders and keep progress, quality, budget and planning under control. You will work with Triton, Damen’s remote monitoring platform. This system collects and analyses operational vessel data, giving shipowners insight into fuel consumption, emissions, utilization and performance. Your work directly helps customers operate their fleets in a smarter, more sustainable and more profitable way. Damen Digital Solutions is a growing team of around 30 professionals within the Damen Group. We focus on on-board automation, remote monitoring and simulations, all contributing to the future of digital and increasingly autonomous vessel operations. What You Will Do You take ownership of technical projects for the installation and delivery of Triton on board vessels. You prepare and manage project plans, align requirements with customers and internal teams, arrange technical input, monitor progress and make sure the system can be installed safely and efficiently. Your projects are varied. One moment you are discussing vessel data, network interfaces or installation requirements with engineering. The next, you are aligning planning, scope, budget or contract changes with customers, suppliers and commercial colleagues. You are the person who brings structure, keeps stakeholders informed and turns technical complexity into a workable project approach. Your Main Responsibilities Manage technical projects from acceptance to delivery. Create, update and monitor project plans with new build project managers, contractors and other stakeholders. Define and optimize project scope, deliverables, budgets and planning together with customers and commercial colleagues. Coordinate the information, components and resources needed for successful system installation. Work with electrical schematics, ship systems, network equipment and serial interfaces, or develop this knowledge on the job. Stay in close contact with suppliers, customers, engineering, sales and project teams. Identify risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, and take action where needed. Prepare project evaluations and report on technical, financial and process performance. Draft and manage contract variations when scope, planning or deliverables change. What You Bring A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Automation, Maritime Technology, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics or Systems Engineering. Experience with ship systems, industrial automation or technical project delivery is a strong advantage. 3 to 5 years of experience in managing technical projects. Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to keep complex projects moving. A practical, collaborative mindset and the curiosity to learn new technical topics. Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English. What We Offer At Damen, you work on technology that matters, in a company that invests in people and innovation. For full-time employment, we offer: A dynamic, international work environment focused on technology and innovation. A flexible work-from-home policy. A competitive salary that reflects your background and experience. At least 40 days of annual leave. Ongoing professional and personal development opportunities through our Damen Academy. About Damen

Industry: Shipbuilding

Company size: 10,001+ employees

Oceans, seas, lakes and rivers offer growing possibilities in the areas of trade, food, energy and recreation. To ensure global prosperity for next generations and keep the earth habitable with an ever-increasing population, it is essential to utilise and protect these possibilities as efficiently and responsibly as possible. Damen provides unprecedented maritime solutions for this, through design, shipbuilding, ship repair and related services. We offer versatile platforms that enable our customers to be successful and that raise the standard in terms of safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability. We want to become the most sustainable shipbuilders in the world. In the previous century, we revolutionized shipbuilding. Thanks to standardisation, we were able to supply our customers with better ships, faster. More than 90 years and 6,500 ships later, the importance of standardisation is only increasing in the light of zero-emissions and digitalisation. We do not build our ships alone, but together with an extensive network from the international maritime cluster. We firmly believe in the power of sharing. It means that we also use our craftsmanship to build platforms on production facilities that are not ours. In this way, through knowledge transfer, we not only contribute to better, safer and more eco-friendly ships, but also to sustainable local development and prosperity. We are a family owned business and stand for fellowship, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and stewardship. Our playing field is the world. Our horizon is the long term. We firmly believe in our team, but also in the strength of the individual. Each colleague is an entrepreneur, focused on ensuring truly satisfied clients and making our contribution to a better world. In every aspect of our business the next generation is our starting point.
