We’re focused on the areas of greatest market need – both today and tomorrow. Our core products and technologies are aligned with industry megatrends including safety and security, vehicle intelligence, fuel efficiency and emissions. Join the Stoneridge Team as we continue to build upon our strong history and reputation for quality products to deliver innovative products and systems that address a need, exceed our customers’ expectations, and motivate our team.

Objective of the position

In this role, you will translate stakeholders, customers, and system requirements into detailed camera system specifications and architecture, ensuring clear traceability from concept through development and validation. You will define subsystem behavior and interfaces, and ensure seamless integration with software, hardware, and the operating environment.

Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and the System and Integration Manager, you will evaluate technical concepts, perform feasibility studies and risk assessments, and drive robust technical solutions that meet performance, quality, safety, and project objectives. You will also support system integration, verification, and activities to ensure reliable ECU subsystem performance within the overall system.

Characterization of activities

  • Develop and maintain system architecture, system elements, and interface definitions while conducting design reviews.
  • Perform system modeling, simulations, and trade-off analyses to support technical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including software, functional safety, cybersecurity, electrical and mechanical engineering, verification, and project management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes, including maintaining camera FMEA.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably within automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment industries.
  •  Knowledge of requirements engineering, gained through formal training or hands-on industry experience.
  • Experience in system architecture development and translating requirements into technical solutions, with expertise in ECU systems, embedded controls, diagnostics, vehicle communication architectures, and system-level integration in automotive applications.
  • Proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools such as DOORS NG, Polarion, Capella, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex system interactions and interfaces.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of ASPICE, UNECE R46, MBSE.

What we offer

  • Salary based on knowledge and experience.
