Maintenance Manager
Key Skills
Job Description
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It
You’re the person who makes our building feel alive. As our Maintenance Manager, you take charge of the technical heartbeat of The Social Hub, keeping everything from guest rooms to rooftop spaces running smoothly. You lead a small but mighty crew, guide external partners and jump in when something needs fixing right now. You spot issues before they become problems and keep our spaces welcoming, safe and ready for the community that calls The Social Hub home. You’ll work closely with the local team while shaping smart, future-proof maintenance habits across the hub. If you love making things work better every day, you’ll feel right at home here.
In Case You Don’t Know Who We Are
Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and the UK, with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and guide the maintenance team while keeping close contact with external contractors
- Jump in as the first responder when anything technical pops up in the hub
- Manage and plan all daily maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators and more
- Track, log and follow up on work orders using Salesforce
- Monitor budgets, check invoices and keep clear maintenance records
- Register monthly utility consumption and support energy-efficient habits
- Keep safety, fire protection and compliance tasks up to date in collaboration with the Regional Property Manager
What You’ll Have
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance management, ideally in hospitality
- You bring strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- You have a hands-on mindset and stay calm when things get messy
- You bring confidence in coordinating contractors and guiding a team
- You have basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other building systems
- You speak Dutch, English is a plus
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work at a dynamic, multi-national company. Not just another hotel - we’re a game changing innovator, challenging every convention and defining the future
- The opportunity to work for a Certified B Corp® company that balances profit with positive impact, collaborating with organizations like Movement on the Ground and the TSH Talent Foundation to create meaningful change
- The chance to learn and grow in your role with the potential for future growth
- Awesome discounts in all our properties in Europe and not just for you, but also for your friends and family!
- A wonderful workplace to call home, full of events, fun colleagues and all the other amazing salary/benefits stuff
At The Social Hub, we believe pay should be fair and consistent. That's why we carefully determine your starting salary based on the role, your assessed proficiency, and our salary framework. We make our best and fairest offer upfront, so we don't negotiate salaries. Because fairness shouldn’t depend on who negotiates best.
Who you are, is how we want you to be. To us, hybrid hospitality goes across the board, from how we service our guests to how we represent ourselves. Here, everyone belongs, and we welcome people no matter their nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or culture. Your authenticity keeps our team diverse. Come as you are.
Core Responsibilities
You will lead the maintenance team and manage daily operations across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure the facility runs smoothly. Additionally, you will oversee external contractors, monitor budgets, and maintain safety and compliance standards.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably within the hospitality industry. You must possess a hands-on mindset, strong organizational skills, and basic technical knowledge of building systems.
Benefits
- Discounts in all properties in Europe
- Professional growth opportunities
- Dynamic work environment
- Certified B Corp company culture
