Assistant Manager
A luxury lodge in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an energetic, hands-on and confident Assistant Manager to join their small team. The ideal candidate will be someone who is comfortable working independently, takes initiative and thrives in a close-knit lodge environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year’s previous experience in a similar role
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Valid First Aid Level 1 preferred
- Previous luxury lodge or hospitality experience advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident and respectful approach to staff management
- Ability to handle camp issues independently and use initiative
- Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm in challenging situations
- Energetic, enthusiastic and eager to learn
- Friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team
- Professional ability to separate work and personal relationships
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the lodge
- Handle guest and camp-related issues confidently and professionally
- Work independently and make sound decisions when required
- Support and manage staff in a respectful and professional manner
- Assist with maintaining high guest service standards
- Take a hands-on approach to lodge operations and assist wherever needed
- Support the Lodge Manager with daily operational requirements
- Maintain a positive and professional team environment

Core Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager will support the daily operations of the lodge and ensure high standards of guest service are maintained. They are responsible for managing staff, handling guest issues, and making independent decisions to ensure smooth camp operations.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector. A valid driver's license and First Aid Level 1 certification are required, along with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
