Job description

Fortaegis is a fast-scaling, highly ambitious and cutting-edge semiconductor company. We are looking for a highly skilled FPGA Engineer, responsible for designing and implementing FPGA solutions for networking and security products. The role focuses on turning system-level requirements into functional, high-performance FPGA designs, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to ensure integration and validation. We are looking for candidates with not only an exceptional skillset, but also an exceptional mindset, willing to go above and beyond to make our breakthrough product even better.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and implementation

  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx FPGAs and development tools (Vivado, Vitis, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of digital design, timing constraints, and high-speed interfaces

  • Familiarity with hardware/software integration in networking or security systems

  • Experience in testing, debugging, and validating FPGA designs in a lab environment

Competencies

  • Strong digital design and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to translate system requirements into FPGA implementations

  • Effective communication across hardware and software teams

  • Attention to detail and disciplined design methodology

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team

Job responsibilities

  • Design and implement FPGA logic based on system-level requirements

  • Develop and maintain block diagrams, constraints, and pin mappings

  • Enable and integrate multiple interfaces (e.g., networking, memory, PCIe, high-speed SerDes)

  • Implement and verify FPGA functionality using VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog

  • Test, validate, and debug FPGA designs in lab and simulation environments

  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless system integration

  • Perform timing analysis, optimization, and resource management for high-performance designs

  • Contribute to design reviews and provide recommendations for FPGA architecture improvements

Additional information

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to participate in shaping the design of our groundbreaking product, contributing to the development of ultra-secure and high-performance SoC designs. They will be part of a dynamic and innovative team, working in a collaborative and challenging environment at the forefront of semiconductor technology.

Core Responsibilities

Design and implement high-performance FPGA logic based on system-level requirements for networking and security products. Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and software teams to ensure seamless system integration, validation, and debugging.

Requirements

Requires 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and implementation with hands-on expertise in Xilinx tools. Candidates must possess strong digital design skills and experience with high-speed interfaces and hardware/software integration.
