Key Skills
Job Description
At Plumerai, we make it easy and affordable for developers to add highly accurate AI to their camera devices, enabling them to create amazing new products. Major brands deploy our advanced computer vision models on millions of smart home cameras in the field and we're rapidly expanding into other sectors, such as commercial security, elderly care and retail. We combine our on-device Tiny AI software with our cloud-based Vision Language Models, to provide our customers with powerful AI features, including People Detection, Video Search, Familiar Face Identification, AI Captions and more. We prioritize on-device inference, to enable low-power, super-efficient and private AI products. Plumerai leads on accuracy, even when compared to large players, such as Google Nest.
We're a small, high-performing team based in London and Amsterdam, with plans to double in size over the next year. Following our recent $8.7M Series A, backed by world-class investors including Tony Fadell, Hermann Hauser, and Zoubin Ghahramani, we have multiple years of runway and rapidly growing recurring revenue.
We’re in a period of significant growth and are expanding our engineering team across multiple levels and specialisms. This is one of several hires we’re making as we scale the company.

About the role
We are looking for a Chief of Staff who will help us accelerate our growth by tackling whatever limiting factor we face. You will become a direct extension of the CEO and will work very closely with him. You will drive two to four high-priority strategic initiatives that the CEO cannot personally execute. Your work will range from taking ownership of everything required to make a product launch successful and temporarily leading functions until a specialist is hired to optimizing our recruitment process and preparing for a new fundraising process. You’re someone who thrives on complex problem-solving with a lot of unknowns, can absorb a lot of information quickly, and is used to context switching. You are comfortable taking on work you have never done before.
You will discuss strategy with the CEO and be in the room for the company’s most important conversations. You understand that shipping fast today is often more important than waiting for a fully refined product in two months. Every week will be different. As we enter our most ambitious stage, we’re looking for someone who can do whatever is needed to help us move faster. The Chief of Staff is one of the highest-impact roles in the company.
What you will be doing
Work directly with our CEO on whatever matters most.
Shape the strategy for new product launches, handle the operations or coordinate PR outreach.
Help scale our recruitment process, co-own executive recruiting, organize recruitment events, think about our employer brand, and join candidate interviews.
Implement AI agents in the operations of our company.
Write external and internal communications, explaining complex ideas simply.
Investigate new potential markets and clearly formulate what ‘Plumerai for X’ would look like.
Support the CEO with investor relations and fundraising processes. Preparing board packs, data rooms, and investor materials.
Find answers to legal or regulatory questions that affect our business.
Stay close to the product roadmap, ensuring decisions are grounded in business strategy.
What we are looking for
You get things done and have a lot of energy.
No job is beneath you and you do whatever it takes. You don't wait for permission.
You always have a clear understanding of what needs to be prioritized, and you help the people around you stay focused on the right things.
You’re a generalist who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none exists.
You’re analytical and have excellent attention to detail.
You’re comfortable with technology, including AI tools, and can learn new tools quickly.
You’re fluent in English.
You will typically have around 5-8 years of experience in a high-performance environment, such as consulting, investment banking, VC, or a fast-scaling startup.
What we offer
Competitive salary.
Visa sponsorship.
Generous equity stake in the company.
Relocation assistance.
Choose your own laptop.
25 days of paid vacation in addition to public holidays.
We only consider applicants who are currently based in, or willing to relocate to, the Amsterdam region. We have flexible working hours. As you will work very closely with the CEO, you are expected to work from our office in central Amsterdam on most working days.
Core Responsibilities
The Chief of Staff will work directly with the CEO to drive high-priority strategic initiatives and manage operational growth. Responsibilities include overseeing product launches, scaling recruitment, managing investor relations, and implementing AI-driven operational improvements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience in high-performance environments such as consulting, investment banking, or fast-scaling startups. You must be a versatile generalist capable of operating in ambiguity, solving complex problems, and working on-site in Amsterdam.

- Competitive salary

About Plumerai
Industry: Software Development
Company size: 11-50 employees
Plumerai provides a complete AI software stack for cameras, built for smart home and commercial security products. Its Video Intelligence software combines highly efficient tiny edge AI with VLMs and LLMs to deliver a broad set of production-ready advanced capabilities for intelligent cameras and security systems. Plumerai covers standard smart home camera features such as People, Vehicle, Animal, and Package Detection, Advanced Motion Detection, and Familiar Face Identification. It also adds advanced capabilities including Multi-Camera Re-Identification, AI Video Search, and AI Captions. With Video Search, users can type natural-language queries such as “mailman” or “man with a ladder”, and AI Captions provide end users with brief textual descriptions of the video clip recordings, giving them an immediate understanding of what happened. Plumerai builds its models from the ground up, using its own data collection, model architectures, and efficient deployment technology that uses accelerators or GPUs. These components are integrated into a complete solution that is ready for customers to deploy in their own cameras, devices, and cloud infrastructure. The software can run on-device, on-prem, in the cloud, or in hybrid deployments, helping customers improve accuracy, reduce cloud cost, protect privacy through on-device processing, and support low-power and battery-powered cameras. Plumerai’s software is already proven in production on millions of cameras across dozens of camera platforms and SoCs. The team is based in London and Amsterdam and is backed by Tony Fadell, inventor of the iPod and founder of Nest and Hermann Hauser, founder of Arm. Plumerai provides a faster path to advanced video intelligence: a production-ready AI stack that improves end-user experiences, reduces engineering complexity, and works across the devices and infrastructure they already build.
