Job Description

QC Specialist- Counterfeit Detection Lab  

 

Job Purpose:  

To support Operations by inspecting and verifying the quality of electronic components, non-electronic components, and peripherals before merchandise is shipped. 

Essential Job Duties:  

  • Verify information visually: 

  • using various microscopic equipment and the naked eye, to insure the component  

  • matches manufacturer specifications 

  • is not damaged  

  • using alcohol swipe and scrape test to verify product has not been black topped 

  • to determine if there are “red flags” that indicate a possible suspect part 

  • Utilize our proprietary system to complete, in detail, the component inspection process and upload any documentation, including but not limited to test results 

  • Ensure all PO/SO requirements are met  

  • Communicate with appropriate individuals when discrepancies arise 

  • Monitor lab operation and test turnaround time 

  • Provide timely reports to relevant personnel when required 

  • Report any abnormal features to management team 

  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments that perform tests such as, but not limited to, XRF, X-RAY, Microscopy, Bondpull, Decapsulation, Solderability, Baking, Curve Tracing, and C-SAM 

  • Ad hoc departmental support  

 

 

 

Job Qualifications 

 

Experience:   

  • 3+ years component or product inspection, testing, counterfeit detection 

  • Solid written and oral communication skills a must 

  • Multi-tasking and organization skills required 

  • Minimum 1 year warehouse experience 

  • Knowledge of the electronics distribution field is helpful 

 

Education 

  • College or technical institute degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related filed is preferred 

Certifications 

  • A+ Certification helpful but not required 

  • CCI 102 Levels 1 and 2 

  • ESD 

 

Software Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a plus 

 

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to lift 35lbs

The QC Specialist is responsible for inspecting and verifying electronic components for quality and authenticity using various analytical instruments and microscopic equipment. They must document inspection results in the proprietary system and report any discrepancies or abnormal features to the management team.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in component inspection or counterfeit detection and a minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience. A degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
