Job Description

With a passion for life

Join our diverse teams of passionate people and a career that allows you to develop both personally and professionally. At Getinge we exist to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. To make a true difference for our customers – and to save more lives, we need team players, forward thinkers, and game changers.

Are you looking for an inspiring career? You just found it.

Become our new Team Lead Hardware (Research & Development)

As Team Lead Hardware (R&D), you lead and develop our multidisciplinary hardware engineering team, bringing together mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to create integrated, high-quality solutions for our bioprocessing products.

You combine people leadership with hands-on engineering contribution. Together with project teams, Product Management, Quality, Operations, Service, suppliers, and other Getinge sites, you help deliver robust, compliant, and customer-centric products from early concept through lifecycle support.

Your challenge:

In this role, you help shape the future of Hardware Engineering within R&D. You create a team environment where engineers take ownership, collaborate across disciplines, make transparent technical decisions, and deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes.

You play a key role in strengthening the R&D organization for the future by developing people, improving ways of working, and helping the team deliver high-quality results in a structured and reliable way.

What will you do?

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary hardware engineering team of mechanical and electrical engineers, including performance, development, onboarding, and capability building.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven team environment where engineers take ownership of technical quality, engineering standards, and reliable delivery.
  • Support project teams with planning, prioritization, resource allocation, technical decision-making, risk management, and transparent communication on progress and capacity.
  • Contribute hands-on to mechanical or electrical design work, prototypes, design reviews, and complex technical problem solving.
  • Ensure consistent engineering practices, tools, documentation, and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and quality processes.
  • Strengthen system-level and lifecycle thinking by connecting mechanical, electrical, quality, manufacturability, serviceability, cost, and customer needs.
  • Represent hardware engineering in cross-functional forums and collaborate with Product Management, Quality, Operations, Service, suppliers, and other Getinge sites.
  • Promote structured product development, robust design practices, technical reviews, and continuous improvement in the hardware engineering team.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, preferably within mechanical and/or electrical product development.
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience, with responsibility for coaching, performance management, talent development, and building high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering project objectives related to quality, timelines, and execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, foster accountability, and promote collaboration.
  • Technical expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to support integrated product solutions and contribute to system-level decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of product development processes, including design controls, technical documentation, design reviews, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Experience in a regulated environment and familiarity with applicable quality and compliance requirements (e.g., CE marking) is considered a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
