Payroll Administrator

Reporting To: Payroll ITO Manager



Description

Our payroll operations are at the heart of our business, managing a portfolio of customers and ensuring the delivery of the end-to-end payroll service consistently, accurately and on time. The Payroll Administrator will work with their customer base to manage their payroll from the beginning of the payroll cycle right through to social and fiscal declarations, advising and guiding customers through the cycle on tax and social declarations and providing a best in class customer experience.



What a typical day looks like...

  • Processing monthly payroll changes
  • Delivering monthly, client-specific administrative reports
  • Reviewing payroll calculations (four-eyes principle)
  • Filing monthly payroll tax returns for our clients
  • Monthly contact with clients to discuss payroll changes
  • Advising clients on payroll and tax-related matters
  • Monitoring deadlines and maintain client action lists
  • Reviewing official tax notices
This is a client centric role, so this role focuses on fantastic customer service, as well as the ability to manage a really varied workload with a lot of client and partner interaction.


To be truly effective you will…

  • At least MBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking level
  • Have strong knowledge of Dutch payroll processes, statutory requirements, and labour laws
  • Have similar field ie. Payroll /Outsourcing environment experience 
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Be proactive, responsive, and able to manage multiple client accounts effectively
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Show good problem-solving skills and know when to escalate issues appropriately
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of integrity
  • Be collaborative, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement in service delivery

Core Responsibilities

The Payroll Administrator manages end-to-end payroll cycles for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll changes and tax declarations. They act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on payroll and tax-related matters while maintaining strict adherence to deadlines.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least an MBO-level education and strong knowledge of Dutch payroll processes and labor laws. Previous experience in a payroll or outsourcing environment is required, along with excellent attention to detail and professional communication skills.
