Class 2 Driver - Winter Maintenance

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all daily vehicle checks and fill out Vehicle Defect Book at the start of shift and end of shift.
- Report all defects including tyre issues to Transport Manager.
- Completion of gritting records
- Setting calibration rates for gritting on vehicle
- Grease vehicle as necessary
- Fill vehicles with fuel on return to yard at end of the day.
- Present Tachograph card for downloading on a weekly basis.
- Ensure all goods are safely secured.
- Ensure your vehicle is kept in a good, clean condition.
- Load and unload the vehicle adhering to Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments.
- Work from other depots within the group and operate other vehicles when required.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately and obtain details as required.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous Class 2 Driving experience essential
- Winter Maintenance / Gritter experience desirable (training may be provided for the right candidate)
- HGV Class 2 Licence

Core Responsibilities
The role involves operating Class 2 vehicles for winter gritting and maintenance while ensuring all vehicle checks and records are completed. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle cleanliness, securing goods, and adhering to safety and environmental policies.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a valid HGV Class 2 Licence and have essential previous Class 2 driving experience. Experience with winter maintenance or gritter operation is desirable but training may be provided.
