YOUR IMPACT
The Senior Data Center Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of data center infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, and scalability of critical systems, while maintaining compliance with operational standards and best practices. The position requires deep technical expertise across compute, storage, networking, and facility integration, along with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
- Design, architect, and deploy end-to-end data center infrastructure (compute, storage, network, power, cooling)
- Lead capacity planning, scalability strategies, and full infrastructure lifecycle management
- Define engineering standards, best practices, and evaluate vendor and technology solutions
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring uptime, performance, and SLA/KPI adherence
- Manage network and systems infrastructure, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrades
- Drive automation, standardization, and operational efficiency through scripting and IaC
- Ensure security, compliance, incident/change management, and provide leadership, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years’ experience in data center engineering, infrastructure architecture, or similar roles
- Strong expertise in data center infrastructure (power, cooling, racks, cabling) and core IT systems (compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud)
- Solid understanding of high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, and large-scale enterprise or hyperscale environments
- Proven experience managing colocation providers, vendors, and delivering complex infrastructure projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; familiarity with DCIM tools, observability platforms, and sustainability/energy optimization
- Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, GPU or HPC systems is a plus as well as an electrical certification
- Very good English and Dutch skills are required.

Requirements
Candidates need a degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering and over 10 years of experience in data center engineering or infrastructure architecture. Proficiency in English and Dutch, along with expertise in high-availability architectures and colocation management, is required.
