About the team:
We launched Vintage Cash Cow into Europe in 2024, with our sister company Arcavindi based just outside of Arnhem. Over the past year, we’ve built a strong operational foundation and a growing, ambitious team. We’re now entering our next phase of scale across the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. 

At the heart of that growth is our Appraisals function. 

About the role:
As Head of Appraisals, you will take this area to the next level. You’ll build on the foundations already in place, developing a high performing team and evolving how we work, embedding data, technology and AI-driven tools to improve speed, accuracy and consistency. 

You’ll work closely with our UK and NL  leadership and support teams, helping shape how we scale across Europe and ensuring the Appraisals function continues to drive the performance of the wider business. 

This role is as much about people leadership and operational excellence as it is about appraisals, you’ll create an environment where your team can thrive, perform and grow.

Key Goals & Objectives:
  • Build and scale a high-performing Appraisals team to meet growing demand
  • Deliver consistent team productivity (25–30 boxes per appraiser, per day)
  • Maintain ≥95% quality control through robust auditing and feedback loops
  • Drive strong commercial outcomes through effective decision-making and KPI management
  • Embed data-led and AI-supported processes to improve speed, accuracy and scalability
  • Partner with UK teams to implement best practice and continuously evolve the function


Key Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Appraisers, creating clear progression pathways and a strong performance culture
  • Set clear KPIs, track performance, and hold regular 1:1s and performance reviews
  • Own team output, balancing productivity, quality and commercial performance
  • Use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Introduce and embed AI tools and automation to enhance appraisal consistency and efficiency
  • Conduct regular quality audits, providing clear, actionable feedback
  • Work closely with operations to plan workload, staffing and resource allocation
  • Act as a key decision-maker for complex or high-value cases
  • Continuously review and improve processes to support scale and growth
  • Create a collaborative, accountable and high-energy team environment
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong leadership experience in a fast-paced, operational or production environment
  • Proven ability to manage performance, KPIs and team productivity at scale
  • Commercial awareness,  able to balance customer outcomes with business performance
  • Experience driving process improvement, ideally including automation or AI adoption
  • Excellent coaching and people development skills
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent command of English
  • Analytical mindset,  comfortable using data to inform decisions
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a changing, fast-growth environment
  • Confident using systems, tools and technology to improve ways of working
  • Physically able to support operational tasks where needed 

(Knowledge of antiques or second-hand goods is a bonus, but not essential, we’re more interested in your ability to lead people and build high-performing teams.)

Lead and scale a high-performing appraisals team while embedding AI-driven tools to improve speed and accuracy. Manage team productivity, quality control, and commercial outcomes to support business growth across Europe.

Requirements

Requires strong leadership experience in fast-paced operational environments and a proven ability to manage KPIs at scale. Candidates must possess an analytical mindset and excellent communication skills in English.
