Job Description

Do you have experience as a pipe welder (in a pipe shop), and are you looking for a long-term role where you can continue developing your skills? Then keep reading!

At the largest pipe fabrication facility in the Netherlands, IHC Piping prefabricates all ship and hydraulic piping required to keep our vessels operational, and we also perform work for external customers. In addition to maritime and hydraulic piping, we manufacture double‑walled piping for hydrogen systems. We work with both ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.

For our production facility in Sliedrecht, we are looking for experienced and motivated pipe welders to strengthen our team. The work involves mainly TIG welding, with some MAG welding as well. You will work with a wide range of materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, CuNiFer, and more.

As a piping welder, you are responsible for welding all (ship) piping produced in the shop according to specifications. You will work in a team of around six welders, supervised by a team leader. Together with pipe fitters, machine operators and logistics staff, you form the production department of IHC Piping.

What will you do?

As a Pipe Welder, you are responsible for welding (ship) piping according to specifications within our pipe shop.

Your main tasks include:

  • Performing primarily TIG welding (steel), supplemented with MIG/MAG welding
  • Working with various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, cunifer, duplex and super duplex (mainly TIG)
  • Welding different types of joints, such as socket, flange, branch, butt and sleeve connections
  • Working in a team of approximately six welders, supervised by a supervisor
  • Collaborating closely with pipe fitters, operators, and logistics colleagues within production

What do you bring?

  • MBO level 3 diploma (or equivalent technical education)
  • Proven experience as a pipe welder
  • Experience with TIG (steel) and MIG/MAG welding
  • Valid welding certificates (please upload or include with your application)
  • Preferably 6G certified
  • A valid VCA certificate
  • Good command of Dutch and/or English
  • Based in the Netherlands

You have valid certifications in one or more of the following areas:

  • TIG (141) – Stainless steel / Carbon steel (ISO 9606-1)
  • TIG (141) – CuNiFer (ISO 9606-3)
  • MAG (135/136/138) – Carbon steel (ISO 9606-1)

We Offer

  • A salary between €3,459 and €4,385 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance
  • Plenty of free time: 40 days off per year based on full-time employment, with the option to buy or sell extra leave
  • A profit-sharing scheme, allowing you to participate in Royal IHC’s success
  • Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometre for days you commute to the Piping facility
  • Solid pension via PME
  • Room to grow: extensive internal career opportunities, a training budget, and access to the IHC Academy
  • Vitality and energy: unlimited access to our in-house gym (in exchange for your sustainable employability day)
  • Royal IHC takes care of the important matters you shouldn’t have to worry about: disability insurance, partner pension, and the option to have additional healthcare costs reimbursed through our Social Fund
