Job Description

You’re not just developing mechanical systems — you’re helping shape the next era of flight. Every structure you design contributes to a breakthrough that will redefine global transportation. As a Stress Engineer at Destinus, you’ll work on the mechanical and structural systems that make subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic flight possible, collaborating across all engineering disciplines to solve new challenges as they arise.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What you'll do

  • Perform detailed structural and structural/thermal analyses and sizing of aerospace structures, components, and systems.
  • Guide structural optimization and design improvements.
  • Deliver detailed FEM Models used for analysis, from GFEM to detailed analysis.
  • Define sizing loads and load cases required for scoping detailed analysis.
  • Deliver preliminary sizing calculations, hand calculations, and simplified estimates to inform the design.
  • Support ground and flight tests.
  • Deliver detailed technical reports and presentations.
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing, integration, and test processes and procedures.
  • Support the definition and execution of the qualification and certification process.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience as an aerospace stress engineer
  • Experience in Turbomachinery sector
  • FEM experience, from building models to analysis, postprocessing, and debugging.
  • Experienced with stress-hand calculation/analytical methods.
  • Experience with both metallic and composite lightweight structural design for aerospace.
  • Experience with Matlab.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the English language is required. Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, French, or German language is an advantage.
  • You are resilient, open to change, and manage stress positively

Who You Are

You’re an engineer who thrives in high‑stakes, fast‑moving environments. You blend analytical rigor with engineering intuition, turning complex problems into clear solutions. You see every load case as a challenge to master and every analysis as a chance to push the limits of what's possible in flight.

Why Join Us?

✨ The Thrill of the Future – Work on cutting-edge projects that redefine aerospace.
✨ Global Innovation Hub – Collaborate with top engineers from all over the world.
✨ Fast-Paced & High-Growth – Experience the rush of working in a rapidly expanding company.
✨ Real Impact – Your work won’t be theoretical—it will shape the future of flight.
